Dr. Scott Explains Why Interstate Pipelines are a Problem, Oil Price Futures

Dr. Loren C. Scott, president, Loren Scott & Associates, joins The Crude Life’s founder Jason Spiess and former Mayor of Bismarck (ND) and current Burliegh County Chairman to discuss the impacts of the Russia Ukraine War and how the U.S. has a serious pipeline problem.

“I mean, it's just coming from just everywhere. If you want to get a pipeline built to move either natural gas or oil, you better hope before God, that pipeline is not gonna go across any state lines. One of the things, one of the reasons I think that the Haynesville shale play here in North Louisiana is gonna do well over the next couple of years is because you can actually move natural gas from North Louisiana down to South Louisiana where the large LNG exports are,” Dr. Scott said.

The discussion then shifts to the Biden administration's policies on fossil fuel production, with Dr. Scott expressing concerns about the administration's attempts to slow down activity in the Gulf of Mexico.

They also discuss the challenges faced by New York in accessing natural gas due to restrictions on crossing state boundaries.

Dr. Scott predicts that a severe winter could prompt a reevaluation of the forced transition away from fossil fuels. He uses New York and Germany to explain his context and rationale.

Dr. Loren Scott recently predicted that Louisiana will add more than 80,000 jobs over the next two years in the state of LA Annual economic outlook, which Dr. Scott is a co-developer of.

“The good economic news for Louisiana just keeps on coming with Dr. Loren Scott’s prediction that Louisiana will add more than 80,000 jobs in the next two years,” said Governor John Bel Edwards. “We have the lowest unemployment rate in state history, manufacturing jobs are at a seven-year high, and our climate action plan has positioned us to lead the global energy transition and attract massive investments in green energy and carbon reduction technology. I have never been more optimistic about the future of our state and I want to thank all Louisianans, across political parties and economic sectors, who have helped us grow and diversify our economy.”

In a previous interview with The Crude Life, explain why foreign countries are especially interested in LA.

“Right now countries are racing for the cheapest natural gas molecules and the United States is considerably cheaper than the rest of the world,” Dr. Scott said.
