The Crude Life Podcast: Kenley Nebeker Shares UAS, CNA & Bakken Opportunities

TrainND Northwest has many modern-day opportunities for those interested in a career change, refresher or certification.

Kenley Nebeker, executive director of TrainND Northwest and president of the TrainND Foundation,  joins The Crude Life and ESG University founder Jason Spiess who is filling in as guest host on KLXX 1270AM SuperTalk’s Talk of the Town with Steve Bakken to talk about the new nonprofit that legislators and UAS leaders to “promote autonomous efforts in the state”.

Nebeker gives an example of how the potential of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) and how drones can be adopted for mosquito and weed spraying. Trinity Northwest is committed to providing a pathway for people to get their aerial application license.

Nebeker also shared insights on how fast-track programs in nursing and drone spraying can provide entry points for people to gain skills and potentially progress into higher-level positions.

Additionally, the interview discussed the potential for providing local hospitals with enough CNA staff to eliminate the need for hiring traveling CNAs.

Other interview topics include:
– Attend training sessions to learn how to fly drones and learn how to make a great market use of them.
– Consider entering the drone industry as there is still plenty of unrealized potential.
– Research the legal process and requirements for legally spraying chemicals using drones.
– Consider the opportunity to obtain a Part 107 license for flying drones commercially.
– Evaluate opportunities in the drone spraying industry.
– Explore fast-track programs for nursing assistant training.
– Look for entry-level positions in the medical industry to gain experience.
– Research hospital partners that offer job opportunities in nursing and healthcare.

Weekly Sponsor:  Stephen Heins, The Practical Environmentalist

Historically, Heins has been a writer on subjects ranging from broadband and the US electricity grid, to environmental, energy and regulatory topics.

Heins is also a vocal advocate of the Internet of Everything, free trade, and global issues affecting the third of our planet that still lives in abject poverty.

Heins is troubled by the Carbon Tax, Cap & Trade, Carbon Offsets and Carbon Credits, because he questions their efficacy in solving the climate problem, are too gamable by rent seekers, and are fraught with unreliable accounting.

Heins worries that climate and other environmental reporting in the US and Europe has become too politicized, ignores the essential role carbon-based energy continues to play in the lives of billions, demonizes the promise and practicality of Nuclear Energy and cheerleads for renewable energy sources that cannot solve the real world problems of scarcity and poverty.

Look at what’s happened to me.
I can’t believe it myself.
Suddenly I’m down at the bottom of the world.
It should have been somebody else

Believe it or not, I’m walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free-e-e.
Barterin’ away with some wings at the fair
Who could it be?
Believe it or not it’s just me
