Stein Challenges "Clean", "Green" and who is Actually "Mean" in Climate Change

Acclaimed author, Pulitzer Prize Nominee shares his research, opinions and experience with Blood Minerals and Clean Energy.

What is a Blood Mineral?

According to Ronald Stein, a Blood Mineral is similar to "blood diamonds."

Blood diamonds are diamonds that are mined in war zones and sold to finance armed conflict, often leading to human rights abuses and violence.

Stein, who often uses the term "blood minerals" to draw an obvious comparison, specifically refers to EV Battery minerals and resources that are extracted under conditions that involve human rights violations, environmental harm, or unethical practices.

Who is Ronald Stein?

Ronald (Ron) Stein is an author, columnist, Engineer and energy policy advisor for Heartland Institute. He is co-author of Energy Made Easy – Helping Citizens become Energy Literate (2019),  Just GREEN Electricity – Helping Citizens Understand a World without Fossil Fuels (2020), and  the 2021 Pulitzer Prize nominated book Clean Energy Exploitations - Helping citizens understand the environmental and humanity abuses that support “clean” energy.

The book Clean Energy Exploitations – Helping citizens understand the environmental and humanity abuses that support ‘clean’ energy” is a Nominee for the 2022 Pulitzer Prize competition in the General Nonfiction category.

They also emphasize the global nature of the problem, noting that the United States of America could cease to exist and we'd see environmental problems get worse. In this book, they answer questions such as:

Would the Green New Deal cut worldwide emissions?
What toll is energy racism and inequality taking on the world?
How effective are renewable forms of energy in meeting our needs?
Whose duty is it to reduce harmful pollution?

Green advocates often say they support sustainable and ethical coffee, sneakers, handbags, and diamonds-and they claim they won't tolerate unsafe conditions. But when it comes to green energy and battery energy storage systems for electrical grids and electric vehicles, the authors say it is a different story.

Ronald advocates that energy literacy starts with conversations and the knowledge that renewable energy is only intermittent electricity generated from unreliable breezes and sunshine. Wind turbines and solar panels cannot manufacture anything for humanity, while fossil fuels manufacture everything for the 8 billion on this planet.

He is the founder of Principal Technical Services (PTS).

Stein started his career as a project manager at Fluor in July 1964. Later he worked as a project manager in Jaws Attraction, Florida, at Universal Studios in 1987.

He established PTS Staffing in April 1995. Since 2010, he has written different Op-eds about the energy sector and conservation. Stein started Energy Literacy, an initiative for educating the public about energy topics. He is a policy advisor on energy literacy at Heartland Institute and The Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT).

Stein has been named as the private business spokesperson for the energy industry. He has started an initiative for Energy Literacy, where he shares books, podcasts, and articles to educate people about the energy sector.

Stein is an energy agnostic, and supplies in-depth discussions and explanations about energy-related subjects for the public to become energy literate about the many sides of renewable electricity, and the products manufactured from fossil fuels, that support lifestyles and economies around the world.

Renewables and fossil fuels are different. Fossil fuels are primarily used to manufacture products and fuels for humanity, while renewables only generate electricity but manufacture nothing for humanity.

In 2020, PTS was renamed as PTS Advance, and Stein became its Ambassador for Energy & Infrastructure. Stein is also a columnist and co-author of three books.

His work has been featured in the Eurasia Review, the Heartland Institute, the Cornwall Alliance, and New Geography.
