Red Trail Energy is an ethanol producer currently operating a CO2 capture facility adjacent to the RTE ethanol facility, to ultimately inject about 180,000 tonnes CO2 annually.
CO2 injection is useful for fracking hydrocarbons, as a chemical feedstock, and for plant respiration and thus oxygen production.
It is ridiculous to burn fossil fuels to inject and "store" CO2 as part of some subsidized carbon capture program.
What an I missing here?
