The oil and gas industry is no stranger to barbeque. In fact, barbeque is a time-honored tradition among oil and gas workers, especially in the United States.

Whether it’s a cookout to celebrate a job well done, or just a way to relax after a long day on the job, barbeque has been an integral part of the oil and gas industry for generations.

For many, barbeque is a way to bond with colleagues and friends in the industry. A barbeque is the perfect time to share stories, make new connections, and just enjoy the company of good friends.

The oil and gas industry is a highly competitive field with long hours and difficult conditions, so barbeque is an important way for workers to let off steam.

Barbeque is also a great way to show appreciation for the hard work done by oil and gas workers. A barbeque can provide a welcome break for the workers and give them an opportunity to get together and enjoy a meal. It’s a great way for workers to take a break from the stress of the job and just relax.

Some companies in the industry even use barbeque as a recruiting tool.

Hosting a barbeque for potential candidates is a great way to show them the culture of the company and give them an opportunity to get to know the people they could potentially be working with.

Barbeque has been an important part of the oil and gas industry for decades and it doesn’t show any signs of slowing down.

It’s a great way for workers to bond and relax, and it’s an invaluable tool for companies looking to attract the best talent. So next time you’re at a barbeque, don’t forget to thank the oil and gas workers that make barbeque a part of their job.

Texas BBQ, or Barbecue, is the delicious, smoky, and unique style of cooking beef, pork, and other meats that is the pride of the Lone Star State. It is a style of cooking that has been around for centuries, and the rich history of Texas BBQ is full of interesting stories, traditions, and techniques.

Early Barbecue in the Americas

Texas BBQ has its roots in the early barbecue techniques practiced by Native Americans. In a region where wood was abundant, they would cook their meat over an open fire, often wrapping it in leaves or burying it in hot coals. This method of slow-cooking the meat would tenderize it and allow the smoke to flavor the meat. As Europeans began to colonize the Americas, they adopted some of the Native American traditions, including their barbecue techniques. The settlers would build a pit in the ground and slowly roast their meat over the fire, often adding herbs and other spices to enhance the flavor.

Barbecue in Texas

When Texas was still a part of Mexico, the state was home to a large population of Mexican cowboys, known as vaqueros. The vaqueros developed a unique style of barbecue that combined Native American, Spanish, and Mexican influences. This style was characterized by the use of mesquite wood for smoking the meat and the addition of chili peppers and other spices for flavor. This style of barbecue was passed down through generations of vaqueros and eventually spread to other parts of the state.

In the 19th century, German and Czech immigrants brought their own barbecue traditions to Texas. The German immigrants would build large pits in the ground and slow-cook the meat for hours, often adding beer, wine, and other seasonings to the meat. The Czech immigrants preferred to cook the meat in a smoker, using oak or hickory wood to produce a smoky flavor. Both of these traditions eventually blended into the unique style of Texas BBQ that is so popular today.

Modern Texas Barbecue

In the 20th century, Texas BBQ gained national recognition as a unique and delicious style of cooking. Restaurants serving Texas BBQ began to spring up in cities throughout the state, and barbecue competitions and festivals became popular events. The popularity of Texas BBQ spread across the country, with many states and cities adopting the style and adding their own local twist.

Today, Texas BBQ is beloved by food lovers all over the world. The state is home to a large number of world-famous barbecue restaurants, and a variety of regional styles of barbecue can be found throughout the state. From the mesquite-smoked meats of the Rio Grande Valley to the slow-cooked briskets of Central Texas, Texas BBQ is a delicious and diverse style of cooking that is sure to please.

OPEC says oil demand will hit 110 million barrels per day in 2045

Global oil demand will rise to 110 million barrels a day in about 20 years, pushing the world’s energy demand up by 23%, said OPEC on Monday.

Oil is irreplaceable for the foreseeable future,” Secretary General Haitham Al Ghais of the Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries said while addressing the inaugural Energy Asia conference held in the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur.

“In our worldwide outlook, we see global oil demand rising to 110 million barrels a day by 2045,” he said, adding that oil will still comprise about 29% of the energy mix by then.

Oil Ships Which Rule The Waves

Saudis Are Tightening the Screws on US Oil Shipments

When Saudi Arabia needs to quickly convince the oil market that supply is tightening, putting upward pressure on prices,  nothing beats reducing its crude exports into the US.

Riyadh has promised to slash oil production next month by 10%, a unilateral cut that would reduce output to just 9 million barrels a day, the lowest since 2011 — save for brief disruptions from Covid and the Yemeni attack on its facilities. Crucially, as important as the cut itself, is where it’s going to be felt: The signals point to the US and Europe.

Asia Will Continue To Need Fossil Fuels For Economic Growth

Oil and gas will continue to play important roles in Asia’s energy mix as developing economies look to energy security and affordability to help their economic growth, Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Monday.

Net-zero goals should not undermine or come “at the expense of economic growth or vice versa,” Anwar told delegates at the Energy Asia conference in Malaysia, as carried by Reuters

Malaysia, one of Southeast Asia’s biggest economies, is also a large exporter of liquefied natural gas (LNG).

“Instead, Asia must take every opportunity to further dialogue and actions around how we can responsibly plan to enable every country (in) its right to development and lower carbon aspirations,” Anwar said.

Florida Gas Prices Drop 12 Cents as Millions Prepare for Independence Day Road Trip

Florida gas prices are declining as 2.45 million Floridians prepare to take a road trip for the Independence Day holiday weekend. Click here to visit the Florida AAA Newsroom to view the full holiday forecast.

On Sunday, Florida gas prices averaged $3.35 per gallon. That’s 6 cents less than the week before and the lowest daily average price in two weeks.

"Florida gas prices have fallen about 12 cents per gallon throughout the past two weeks," said Mark Jenkins, spokesman, AAA - The Auto Club Group. "Low oil prices have enabled gas prices to remain well below year-ago levels. However, strong demand has created some volatility throughout the past month. Even if gas prices bounce higher again soon, Independence Day road trippers will pay much less at the pump than they did last year."

Florida gas prices averaged $4.54 per gallon on July 4, 2022. That amounts to $18 more for a full tank compared to what drivers are paying now.

Here are some of the more notable historic gas price averages for Independence Day in Florida:

  • 2022 - $4.54 (record high)

  • 2021 - $3.01

  • 2020 - $2.11 (Lowest since 2004)

  • 2019 - $2.68

  • 2014 - $3.60
