Texas Railroad Commission Releases Drilling Permit, Completion Statistics for January
According to RCT officials, the RCT issued a total of 748 to drill new oil or gas wells, 10 to re-enter plugged wellbores and 39 for re-completions of existing wellbores.
Officials from the Railroad Commission of Texas (RCT) released the Texas Drilling Permit and Statistics for Jan. 2024 on Monday.
According to RCT officials, the RCT issued a total of 748 to drill new oil or gas wells, 10 to re-enter plugged wellbores and 39 for re-completions of existing wellbores.
RCT officials noted the breakdown of the well types for the total original drilling permits as follows:
135 oil;
36 gas;
558 oil and gas;
49 injection;
21 other permits.
RCT Commission staff processed 770 oil, 216 gas, and 319 injection completions for new drills, re-entires and re-completions.
