Landus Teams up with Wessels Oil Company to Create Landus Energy
“We are constantly looking for ways to take links out of the supply chain creating savings for our farmers,” said Matt Carstens, President & CEO of Landus and Conduit.
Landus, an Iowa-based agriculture solutions company, announced a collaborative venture with Wessels Oil Company with the creation of Landus Energy. This alliance brings together the strengths of both organizations and will significantly enhance the customer experience for both Landus and Wessels Oil Co. to deliver energy products (off-road diesel, regular diesel, gasoline, LP, etc.) to Landus customers. This also allows both companies to expand offerings in the future and provide more services that farmers rely on to fuel their operations.
“We are constantly looking for ways to take links out of the supply chain creating savings for our farmers,” said Matt Carstens, President & CEO of Landus and Conduit. “Creating Landus Energy and adding the expertise and abilities of a partner like Wessels Oil Co. accomplishes that with a resource that is absolutely vital to the success of our farmers.”
For Landus, the farmers remain top-of-mind, and this collaboration will seal the deal for connections with suppliers of the fuels needed for agriculture with a network of more than 5,500 farmers. For Wessels Oil Co., the core of their business is infrastructure and logistics. Through a combined network, Landus will introduce the procurement and sale of fuels and related products while Wessels Oil Co. will deliver those fuels and services. Landus and Wessels Oil Co. current market footprints overlap and bring distribution efficiencies to each other.
“Our farmers depend on a variety of fuel options to support their operations and need a trusted partner that is committed to serving them reliably,” said Bruce Vernon, Landus EVP, New Business Ventures. “The combination of our relationship with fuel suppliers and network of farmers and Wessels’ experience, infrastructure, and logistics we have found a solution to keep the farmer at the center of the energy ecosystem through Landus Energy.”
“As Landus expands its fuel offerings with the creation of Landus Energy, there is a need for a strong distribution partner,” said Brandon Wessels, Owner of Wessels Oil Co. “We look forward to putting our distribution and logistics expertise to work to help farmers across Iowa find as much value and savings with their fuel needs.”
